Sakarun i Veli Žal

Sakarun

Sakarun is one of the most famous beaches in Zadar County and the absolute jewel of Croatia. Sakarun or Saharun, as this beach is also called, is a picturesque bay about 800 m long that looks like the Caribbean in the heart of the Adriatic. Despite the fact that Sakarun beach is located next to the open sea, it is protected by a long bay and because of this the sea is always at a pleasant temperature for swimming. Sakarun is considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, and it owes its reputation to fine white sand and the turquoise color of the sea, which is incredibly clear. Swimming at Sakarun beach is one of the best things you can do on Dugi otok.

The beach is perfect for families with children who like to spend a wonderful day on the beach and for young people who are looking for undiscovered and natural destinations of unique beauty. The bay is wide enough that everyone can find a place for themselves without any problems. At 250 m from the coast, the sea is only 3.5 m deep. The shallow sea is ideal for children to play, the youngest can play in the sea and build sand castles. On the western side of the bay there is a dense pine forest that offers shade in the summer. At each end of the bay there is a coffee bar with refreshing drinks and fast food, you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds.

Veli Žal

If you are one of those who always dream of the clear sea and the crystal view of the bottom characteristic of postcards from the Maldives, we have good news.
